Download / Install APAS SoftwareThe APAS software can be obtained by either of two methods. First, the latest version of APAS software is always available on the Ariel internet site (/) and can be downloaded absolutely free of charge. If you are evaluating APAS for the first time, you are eligible for a 30-day trial. When running the APAS software, the system will determine if you are eligible for the free trial and grant you a temporary license if you are. If you purchased the system or if the system determines you are not eligible for a 30-day trial, you will need to e-mail your Site Code number (see below). This number will be used to generate the software license. When purchasing the APAS computer or hardware from Ariel Dynamics, the APAS software may also be included on a CD-ROM. The APAS software is installed by running the setup.exe software file located in the install directory. NOTE: APAS software downloaded from the internet is in a self-extracting zip file and should be unzipped to a temporary directory first. Ariel Dynamics recommends accepting all the default settings during the installation process. Site CodeThe Site Code is part of the APAS licensing information on your computer. You must send us the Site Code in order for us to generate the Site Key. To do that, follow the next directions: 1. Bring up the main APAS module display as shown in Figure 1. 2. Click on any APAS software module (Display for example). As soon as the license menu is displayed, press the ENTER key. (You must do it within 2 seconds). You will see the following display as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1. Site Key Generator menu 3. Click on the "Display Site Code" and you will be presented with the License Agreement menu (Figure 2).
Figure 2. License Agreement Display 4. After reading and agreed with the license agreement click "Yes" and the Site Code number will be displayed (Figure 3).
Figure 3. Site Code and Site Key. 5. Copy this Site Code and send it to us by E-mail with the System Parameter Code. Do not insert this Site Code number into the Site Key field. The Site Key must come from us after we register the Site Code. 6. Upon receipt of full payment for your order we will send your Site Key by return e-mail. The Site Key should be entered in the Site Key field as shown in Figure 3. 7. Now you are ready to run all the APAS modules indefinitely. You need to do the above only for a single APAS module. The license information is automatically copied to the system and includes all purchased options. In the case of a free evaluation, all options are activated for a period of 30 days. Renderer/Gait Software Installation InstructionsThe RENDERER and APAS GAIT software can also be obtained by either download from the internet or supplied on CD-ROM. Both these programs require two JAVA files to be installed for correct operation: the JAVA JRE and JAVA 3D files. The JRE and Java 3D are included in the APAS-CD and can also be downloaded from the following link: http://java.sun.com/downloads/ 1. Install the Java JRE file. 2. Install the Java 3D file. 3. Install the Renderer or APAS-Gait software NOTE: Unless you are operating on a temporary license, you must purchase the Renderer and/or Gait program and receive a Site Key issued by Ariel Dynamics for these modules to operate.
