The Return of Mel Siff
He's back. The ever popular Mel Siff. For several months, a popular if controversial figure in the world of Sport Science. Mel had taken a brief leave of absence to attend to personal affairs -- mainly his emigration to the United States from which his wife Lisa hails from.
Dr. Siff is currently conducting a seminar tour here in the U.S. (Dallas, TX, Denver, CO and San Francisco, CA) wherein he will highlight his popular Facts and Fallacies series. Some of the topics he intends to cover in these seminars are: Plyometrics Facts & Fallacies, Periodization Facts & Fallacies, Hybrid Training, Supertraining - Integrated East-West Strength Conditioning and Strength Training into the 21st Century. The 3-day Denver event will include many other speakers on a wide variety of fitness, aerobics and sports related topics. The topics are to be addressed at a level appropriate for a mixed audience of fitness professional, sports scientists and therapists. Mel's works on Physical Fitness has attracted quite a following and some of his writings have been featured in the Sport Science discussion group. And now, his writings will grace the pages of this new website to continue to enlighten us on his perspectives on Physical Fitness. His popular 'Facts and Fallacies' will be printed here in several installments. For the first installment, visit our Siff Space Section. We welcome Mel to his new country and to his new column here at the Cybersport E-zine and wish him the best of luck in both. |
